Slipping Sands

Today was simply Stunning in Sunny Queensland today, so we took the boat out to North Straddie to the Slipping Sands and the children had so much much fun racing down the steep sand hills, catching fish, swimming and making new friends.
I'm just grateful we all came back with no tears or broken bones as you can see it looks quite adventurous.

School Holidays!!!

It's that time of year again, September school Holidays...and I love it , no homework , sleep ins, no frantic rush to get out the door to get to school on time everyone can relax and move at relaxed pace I love it! The weather has just got warm enough for the kids to swim in the pool and it feels like the beginning of summer, my favourite time of year. Luckily I have managed to get some scrappin done.. I made this gorgeous open album for Zac from the night of the school concert and he simply loves it! This was also made for my DT work on Scrapbook Savvy I've used the Kaisercraft Open Album, as well as the Hiedi Swapp Chipboard and Daisy D's PP, although this was quite simple, I love the effect!

I've also worked on a page with a photo from movie world,of Zac in an orange carrot, I've had it for a while and came up with an idea to use some more of those stunning Kaiser craft pp and safron felt that I used for the double beach art LO I done .

I discovered Basic grey are also having a comptetion and for 3 lucky winners, they will receive $100 worth of products wahoo!! It's using their obscure range of pp..so I'm nearly finished and Kjirsten brought her entry over tonight and it's simply stunning! It was fun to have a go at as the paper is certainly obscure..so I'll put down as a real challenge! However Basic Grey's papers are just stunning and are always a pleasure to work with.

Catch up..

It's been a fairly busy week as usual...we had soccer break up all Day on Sunday, and for the rest of the afternoon we took the kids down to the BMX track. They just love it the boys ride their bikes Elly ran around the track with a teddy under one arm and make up case in the other..very cute and Simon hung out with Dad and messed about with their Monster trucks while I spread a nice big blanket out in the shade and read a few Autumn leaves books that I have been meaning to take a look at...
After receiving my first DT Kit, I began this layout of Zac at the beach, from the photo's I took in the previous week, he sat on the sand for about 3 hrs just building, digging and creating his own little master piece..I used the gorgeous new esperance papers from Kaiser craft.

Basic Grey pick up...

Yesterday I got a surprise email...from Basic Grey letting me know they decided to pick a Layout I submitted earlier that day..what an honour.. to feature in there gallery...HOW COOL

So here it is...

I used Basic Greys pp Recess and Obscure.. simply stunning! , with a really cool overlay from clear expressions..and all my journalling is hidden under the photo using BG magnetic snaps.

On another high point my first DT Kit arrived from Scrapbook Savvy along with my new Basic Grey Magnetic Mat...The kit was simply fabulous and I can't wait to get stuck into it!

Mid Week.....

Mid Week... has been fairly uneventful been doing all the fun stuff ..household chores, the joys of being a Mother, most of the time I feel I'm chasing my tail..I clean up they mess up..oh well keeps me movin..Zac had his first Guitar lesson this week with Richard, and buy the end of an hour his little fingers had had a good workout..I can see we will be moving at a slow pace but Richard assures me he will get there, I'm going to have to come up with a new routine to fit in practice , homework , play time , computer time , TV time ( which would be all the time if I didn't put my foot down and send the controller on a holiday)...and we have also decided to start a little pocket money for him this week, so I'm drawing up a list of small chores for him to hopefully make life a little easier just simple stuff like setting the table for dinner , clearing the table after dinner ect... it will be interesting to how he goes and I wonder if the incentive of a little money will entice him to keep it up.

Diane was packing my first DT kit from Scrapbook Savvy this week oohhh...how exciting can't wait to get started, I've also ordered some of the new basic grey paper, and the new magnetic precision mat.. Look forward to the posty dropping of a parcel yeepee!!!

I also won the Monthly winter Challenge at BS with my Winter layout of elly...

Riverside Fireworks Spectacular

Tonight we went to the the top of spicer street, Coopooaroo to watch the Brisbane river city fireworks hosted by FM104...WOW it was stunning, especially the story bridge, and the kids loved it, The crowd was huge where we were, (about 6 kms from the city) so I can only imagine what it would have been like to be right in the middle of it. I took some pics but felt slightly under prepared as I haven't photographed fireworks before and should have checked up on the settings, oh well theirs always next time!!A tripod probably would have been useful sounds like it will be one of my next investments. This photo, is one of the better ones I took...now all I have to do is think about a great layout I could use them in hmm....

Off to watch a movie on fox, while cutting some card stock for my mini album..
